PNEUMONIA

What is pneumonia? It is an illness caused by the inflammation of the lungs. In other way we may say that it is a lug infection in which the air sacs fill with pus. Pneumonia is one of the dreaded diseases. Generally the people are so lethargic to bring the patient to the doctor or any private nursing homes because they tend to aim at all home made remedies. The situation will naturally become from bad to worse. Sometimes it will prove to be fatal. At last minute, the patient will be rushed to the hospital, where, by the careful attention and medication of the doctor the patient is likely to relieve from the dreaded disease. In village, the position is no better. The simple and ignorant people give their home made medicines assuming the diseases according to their imagination. The village native doctor will examine the pneumonia affected person and will treat with his hand-made medicines in the form of powder and small balls. If the village native doctor’s treatment fails, the care-takers of the patient will go to the town doctor, several miles away. Even if he fails, he will advise to take the patient to city where the specialist of any nursing have will certainly cure the patient.

ASTHMA

What is asthma? A respiratory condition marked by attacks of spasm in the bronchi of the lungs, causing difficulty in breathing and usually associates with allergic reaction. Asthma is not a killer disease. But a person who is subject to asthma thinks that he should die immediately rather than to live because he undergoes a painful and difficult breathing problem. He suffocates and struggling for life. When an asthmatic patient is admitted in the hospital, the nurse immediately fixes an oxygen cylinder and by the help of it, the asthmatic patient is much relieved. A lot of medicinal pills are being prescribed to get relieved from asthma. But, once a person gets into the clutches of asthma, will not find anyway to come out of it. The much recommended pill is DERYPHYLLIN or the DERYPHYLLIN injection will be administered. A lot of investigation is going on to relieve asthma. Some doctors, by mere injections (the medicinal substance in the injection is secret) stay off the asthma for six months to one year. For that temporary relief, the people throng around the doctor. A particular doctor prescribes a combination of three pills namely, DERYPHYLLIN, ASTHALIN and four BETNASOL, which seem to be effective in controlling the asthma.

EPILEPSY

The running buses suddenly stop. The speeding motor cars screeched to halt. The motorbike rides suddenly applied brakes of their vehicles in order to cease moving further. Why? A man, well-built, was lying on the road struggling with his convulsions. Indeed, epilepsy is such a horrible disease. What is epilepsy? It is a neurological disorder marked by sudden recurrent event of sensory disturbance, loss of consciousness, or convulsions. What is convulsion? It is a sudden, violent, irregular movement of the body caused by involuntary contraction of muscles. A person, possessing such an above disease, cannot travel independently. He cannot ride a cycle or motorbike or car and in short, any vehicle. Such a person has to depend on a standby and that a standby should accompany his whenever he goes. What a terrible situation it must be? An epileptic cannot be identified easily. He will appear normal. He will do the acts as others do in the normal way. He will speak, write, laugh and everything is carried out by him normally. But he is subject to an epileptic attack in any time and in any place. An epileptic should be treated as a patient. He must be subjected to the doctor’s periodical check-up and treatment.

OSTEOARTHRITIS

LYMPHORRHOEA SCROTUM

By nature, human famine species suffer those three days of monthly periods! But, if the males suffer from such oozing out must be considered wonder of wonders! But the doctors have come out such cases and they named it as ‘LYMPHORRHOEA SCROTUM’. A famous surgeon examined a middle aged man say an imaginary name as Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson told the doctor that he was suffering from discharge of fluid from scrotum since four years. First he noticed that the discharge took place from the left half of his scrotum. Later it developed into the multiple areas of discharge. The discharge used to occur once or twice a month. Gradually it became frequent and then it was the case everyday occurrence. Poor Mr. Wilson! He had to change his loin cloth four or five times a day. The concerned surgeon advised Mr. Wilson to cut off the entire scrotum and in its place a pouch could be replaced, made out of the excision of the skin from the thigh of the patient. To escape from the intolerable situation of untold misery, Mr. Wilson had willingly agreed to undergo the operation. The surgeon’s skilful hand made the operation successfully. Having relieved from the dreadful disease, Mr. Wilson is happy now!

DIABETES

Diabetes is a disorder of the metabolism causing excessive thirst and the production of large amounts of urine. DIABETES INSIPIDUS and DIABETES MELLITUS are also other forms of diabetes. To be a diabetic patient is to be considered as an unwelcome situation. Long life is out of question for any diabetic. He suffers from taking sugarless coffee, tea and many more. He is unable to take sweets which are harmful to his disease. English medical science otherwise called ALLOPATHY will control the disease but it will not entirely control it. But other systems of medicine such as HOMEOPATHY, UNANI and SIDDHA simply boost that their medicinal products will cure entirely the diabetes. But their claims of such statement have not been proved yet. Sometimes diabetes comes through their ancestors who had been diabetics. Diabetes, if once attacked, will not disappear completely. But the affected person can reduce the intensity of the disease by adopting suitable food habits. In some cases of diabetes, the doctors prescribe periodical insulin injections to be administered on the body. If one neglects proper treatment towards diabetes, he will suffer from defective eye sight, deterioration of bone strength and many more. So the diabetics are cautioned to maintain regular food habits and proper in-take of medicines as prescribed by the doctors.

BLOOD PRESSURE

What is blood pressure? The pressure of the blood in the circulatory system is closely related to the force and rate of the heartbeat and the diameter and elasticity of the arterial walls. There are two kinds of blood pressure. One is high blood pressure and the other one is low blood pressure. If one is affected by high blood pressure, he tends to shout on the minor wrong doings of others. He will always be in the perturbed mind. He will be restless. If he thinks that anything is unjustifiable, he gets easily irritated. So, to maintain calm and peaceful mind, one should be free from high blood pressure. In contrast to above, a person of low blood pressure maintains his coolness. He would not show his anger outwardly. But if he does not take proper medicines, one day he would suddenly fell down fainted. It is known that a person, while driving a car, was slowly getting into unconscious state and by intuition, he applied stopped the car. Next time, he regained consciousness; he understood that he was in the hospital bed. Whether it is high blood pressure or low blood pressure, proper treatment must be taken from the doctor.
