FEVER

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

An abnormally high body temperature is a sure indication that a person concerned is affected by fever. A feverish man will not relish the food. He would appear mirthless and lack briskness. A feverish person will be naturally irritable because his uneasiness will be reflected around somebody in an angry way. The doctor prescribes pills and in the event of not subscribing, the doctor administers injection. There is saying that says ‘starve the fever and stuff the cold’. A fever affected person should not gobble up food after food. He should allow the digestion system to take rest. Unless he is craving for food, he is not supposed to eat anything. Abstaining from food is advisable in the health point of view. If neglected, fever will become severe to the effect of delirium. Delirium is an acutely distributed state of mind characterized by restlessness, illness, and incoherence of thought and speech. Such critical situation demands the doctor’s fullest concentrated effort in treatment as well as prescribing the medicines. So, a wise patient is supposed to approach a doctor as soon as he is affected by fever. Delay in this affair will be disastrous. So, prevention is better than cure. Thus think wisely and act smartly.
